Good morning!
I am Jiao Jie from Class 5, Grade 8. The title of my speech today is ‘Stay Away From Drugs, Starting From Me.’
Drugs are demons, not only devouring lives and destiny, but also wiping out the splendor of civilization. Drugs destroyed people’s bodies, tormented people’s spirit and wore down people’s desire to live. In history, the painful lessons of the Opium War constantly reminded us that drugs could destroy a nation and a country.
Though people hate drugs, not everyone consciously resisted, kept away from drugs or fought with drug abuse. In real life, there existed plenty of drug trafficking and drug taking, which resulted in lots of beautiful lives withering away. At present, there is a trend that the number of drug users in China has been on the rise. The percentage of teenager drug users was high, making them the high risk group who was most likely to be under the threat of drugs.
The primary task at present is to strengthen anti-drug publicity education for teenagers. Students at school are supposed to have the ability to distinguish right from wrong, master some anti-drug knowledge and enhance the ability to resist drugs. As for drugs, we should have clear understanding and a strong will as well. Let us start from ourselves from today to improve anti-drug consciousness, stay away from drugs, build a barrier to resist drugs and make drugs unable to exist.
Students, life is so precious and wonderful. We have sunshine and fresh flowers in front of us. Let us raise our vigilance, keep our eyes open, cherish our lives and keep away from drugs to assume our due responsibility to create a drug-free campus.
